Result: Effective Learning

Our aim at Ratcliffe is to maintain high academic standards as part of an all-round balanced education. The 2010 inspection report states that pupils achieve good standards at all ages and are highly effective learners overall.

We are very proud of the academic achievements of our students.

2011 GCSE RESULTS

Students and staff are celebrating the best ever set of GCSE results at Ratcliffe College, including 56% of grades at A* and A grades, and 82% of grades at Grade B or higher.

Particular congratulations must go to: Catherine Charnock, Adam Donegani, Abbi Hau, Patrick Joy, Moyo Mosaku, Ryan Patel, Amelia Power, Georgina Rea, Emma Redding, Rishi Soni, Rebecca Taylor, Anna Thorley, Kyle Turakhia, William Watts, Nicola Williams and Monica Zhang who each secured a most impressive 10 or 11 A* and A grades in their subjects.  They, along with another 23 students who achieved exceptional results, will all receive Sixth Form Academic Scholarships as they embark upon their ‘A’ levels at Ratcliffe College this September.

Headmaster, Gareth Lloyd, commented:

“This year’s GCSE results represent a superb all-round performance by Ratcliffe students.  The most able girls and boys achieved the highest grades across the board; yet there were exceptional results from all students, and very nearly all achieved at least a Grade B in all of their examinations.  This reflects excellently on the students, and of course their teachers, and bodes very well for the future.”

2011 A Level Results

Ratcliffe College is delighted with its second best ever ‘A’ Level results in the history of the School.  A most impressive 36% of students were awarded straight A*/A grades, while 62% of the Year group achieved all A*/A and B grades in their three or four subjects.  Many students also obtained additional AS qualifications.

Headmaster, Mr Gareth Lloyd, commented:

“Our current Year 13 students have been exemplary in every way: working extremely hard to access exciting and fulfilling opportunities after school; playing hard in a fantastic variety of extra-curricular activities, especially sport, music and drama; and most importantly, looking after each other and others both within the School community and beyond.  I am delighted that their excellent work ethic has been rewarded with demonstrable academic success.  We are especially pleased for all of our students who have obtained places at their chosen university, including those who are starting at Oxford and Cambridge this September.  Congratulations to students and staff!”
