Graduate Sports Assistants, September 2012
We are seeking to appoint two female and two male Graduate Sports Assistants. Your degree will be in Sport Science or a Sport-related subject. Your role will be to provide assistance within the Physical Education department and Boarding Community. While most of your time will be spent in the senior school (Years 7 to 13), there will also be opportunities to work with younger children.
This position will be on a fixed term contract, from 1st September 2012 until 31st August 2013, and would be particularly suitable for those intending to subsequently gain a place on a PGCE course or GTP. The ability to take responsibility for a School team is essential, and a coaching qualification at level 1 or above is desirable, as is a lifeguarding qualification.
The College boasts spectacular sporting facilities catering for a very wide range of athletic activities, including a variety of sports courts and pitches, an Astro turf, fitness suite, athletics track and 25-metre indoor swimming pool. The major team sports are:
Boys: Rugby, Hockey and Cricket
Girls: Netball, Hockey and Tennis/Rounders
Football, swimming, basketball, aerobics, badminton and athletics (including cross-country running) are also popular.
