Fixture involvement for the spring term

06-01-2012

I would like to start by saying what a very successful term this has been for Ratcliffe sport. All credit to the boys and girls who have represented the school and, of course, the parents who have supported the fixtures. There have been a huge number of fixtures played in hockey, netball and rugby, with many victories along the way. We as a School are very proud of the student’s achievements and look forward to this continuing next term.

The Graduate Assistants and Sports Coaches have settled in well, bringing new ideas and refreshed enthusiasm that have certainly rubbed off on the students. They have thrived on the responsibilities of coaching a team and that will continue in the spring term.

During the autumn term we fielded a number of ‘B’ teams in different age groups and this will continue to increase in the spring term. We want to give as many children the opportunity to represent Ratcliffe as possible; this can only happen with the support that we get from you, the parents, and of course, the students themselves. May I ask, therefore, that you read carefully the calendar that accompanies this letter and highlight the fixtures in which your child is likely to participate. Owing to the number of teams that we wish to field next term, we shall be relying even more on parental support when it comes to availability for fixtures. There will be Saturday fixtures most weekends and training during the week throughout the term and every student is welcome to attend these sessions.

Information regarding fixtures is available in the Headmaster’s weekly E-Newsletter, as well as the sport section of the School’s website. If you would like a photocopy of the fixture list for the coming term, these will be available from P.E. staff at the start of term, from the P.E. office.

Thank you again for your continued support of Ratcliffe sport.

Mr Philip Gilchrist, Acting Director of Sport, Ratcliffe College.
