IFS Proshare Challenge
24-03-2011

The IFS Proshare Challenge was offered to Years 12 & 13. This is a national competition that offers students the opportunity to trade on a virtual stock market. Students had to enter in teams of 4 and as with previous years, each team was given a ‘virtual’ £100,000 to invest.
Nationally, over 7500 teams took part and the winning team at Ratcliffe this year polled in at within the top 6% of all the national teams, they made a capital gain of nearly £8,463 – the best return on investment since the commencement of the competition! They were also only £2,000 off gaining a place in the National finals. The 2nd team were close on their heels, with a return of £8,455.
Winning Team called themselves ‘The Lehman Brothers’ and are in the photograph (from left to right) with their tutor Miss Tiffany Spencer.
