Sixth Form Language Society Evening
04-11-2011

Wednesday 10th October 2011
Over twenty Sixth Form linguists and their friends joined Mr McCrindell, Miss Casa, Mrs Reddin and our German assistant, Mr Sigloch, for a very enjoyable evening in the Sixth Form Centre on Wednesday 10 October at 7.30pm. Mr Sigloch started the evening in German, with a lively description of his experiences of his education in his home town of Freibourg. Mr McCrindell followed by showing an excellent video made by a former pupil, Toby Nutter, about the Munich beer festival. Everyone enjoyed some European nibbles during a short break and Mrs Casas showed the beginning of a Spanish film, ‘El Diario de las motocicletas’, (The Motorcyclists’ Diaries). Students had to answer some short questions about what they had seen. To finish Mrs Reddin explained the plot of ‘Bienvenu chez les Ch’tis’, (Welcome to the Sticks), an extremely funny French film and she showed an amusing clip. Once again the students had to answer several questions about what they had seen. It was very pleasing to see the students engaging with the activities and enjoying the different languages during the evening.
