Open Morning, Scholarship and Entrance Examination Dates

You are welcome to visit Ratcliffe with your son/daughter on a normal school day, when there will be tour of the School accompanied by a senior student and an individual meeting with the Headmaster. Please contact the Registrar if you would like to arrange a visit.

Your son/daughter is also most welcome to spend a ‘Taster Day’ at Ratcliffe on a normal school day either prior to taking the entrance examination/assessment or after being offered a place following the entrance examination/assessment. Children applying for a boarding place are also invited to stay overnight as part of their taster visit. Please contact the Registrar if you would like your child to spend a Taster Day at Ratcliffe.

Entrance Examinations and Scholarship Dates for entry in September 2013

  • 11+ examinations (to include assessment for Academic Scholarships) - Saturday 12th January 2013
  • Year 7 Art, Music and Sport Scholarships – Wednesday 16th January 2013
  • 10+ examinations – Friday, 18th January 2013
  • 9+ examinations – Friday 25th January 2013
  • 12+, 13+ & 14+ examinations – Saturday, 26th January 2013
  • Year 9 Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships – Tuesday 29th January 2013
  • Sixth Form Sport Scholarships – Tuesday 5th February 2013
  • 13+ Academic Scholarship examinations – Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th February 2013

For further information about entry to all Year groups and for information regarding Scholarship examinations and bursaries (these are only available on entry to Year 7), please contact the Registrar.

The Registration Form (located in the back of the prospectus) must be completed and returned to the Registrar in order that your child’s name may be entered for the entrance examinations.

Specimen papers for entrance examinations (11+ upwards) and 13+ scholarship examinations are available on request from the Registrar.
