Sixth Form: a preparation for life

The Rosmini Sixth Form Centre is a state of the art, purpose-built facility that provides exceptionally good facilities for our Year 12 and 13 students. The Study Centre occupies the whole of the first floor and provides extensive Sixth Form library and ICT provision and an ideal working environment in which students make full use of their private study lessons – so important in determining final examination grades. We are delighted with the manner in which these study facilities have contributed towards ‘A’ level examination success, with improved statistics over the past decade.

The Sixth Form Lounge (with a full screen cinema facility) and Sixth Form Cafeteria on the ground floor provide a most pleasant environment for free time and social activities, as well as for meetings of the numerous Sixth Form societies.

Our Sixth Form students are drawn from a wonderfully diverse range of social and ethnic backgrounds, yet all share a thirst to achieve their full academic potential to attain their varied hopes and ambitions for the future. We believe that our school community is strengthened by this variety and that all individuals benefit from living and working in such an environment.

While we give support and guidance to students on an individual basis, we have several aims which apply to all. In particular, we genuinely offer all of our students a true preparation for life, by enabling each student: 

• To obtain his/her best possible public examination grades;

• To develop as an individual within a supportive, Christian environment;

• To take on and manage extra responsibilities;

• To participate in extra-curricular activities – sporting, musical, dramatic, cultural, hobbies, social, etc. – according to interests and abilities;

• To develop the skills and characteristics required to be able to enter wider society as a confident, well-rounded individual having consideration for others.
